A Quarter of a Million Dollars - gone

Wow - It was only in my wildest dreams that I could imagine ever GIVING AWAY - a QUARTER OF A MILLION DOLLARS!! Thats just what we did today!
As a Co-founder of the Beach Ball Foundation, I knew we were creating a fun way to raise money for childrens charities, but, I didnt realize just how impactful this volunteer-driven organization would be!
25 area non-profit organizations were presented with the funds raised thru the Beach Ball and BBF events held throughout the year.
We started by holding the Beach Ball in the backyard of a friends house. We outgrew that space and moved the party to a bigger backyard - a really BIG backyard...The Beach Ball entertains nearly 2000 people on the last Saturday in August.

Much of that site is under construction but you can still get an idea of what we are about.
The Foundation has grown into an annual campaign of giving and,so,today we gave away $252,381.72 to 25 charities!
Over 20 great restaurants, hundreds of volunteers,generous sponsors (like Benefits in a Card and North American Rescue, Lauren's Electric Co-Op, Mauldin High among others) and lots of businesses support our cause. Like Entercom Communications and B93.7FM!
It's so great to know that,together,we are, "Changing the Lives of Children Through Education and the Arts". Thanks to everyone who gives so generously and cares about kids and our community.
