This past weekend I took a trip to Birmingham, AL to visit some friends and drink for free. The entire weekend was a celebration of the Dave Matthews Band concert we all attended on Monday, April 20. Minus the University of Alabama spring football game(known as "A-Game" in Alabama), the talk of the town this past weekend in Birmingham was the arrival of Dave Matthews Band for the first time in 8 years. I was very lucky to get tickets to this show which sold out in two days. My friends and I tailgated for hours. We were celebrating the show by eating Chik-fil-a, drinking Newcastle and poorly playing DMB songs on our guitars. The show, however, was far from poor. This band truly puts on the greatest live shows of any band in existence. If you ever get a chance to go...GO! Dave Matthews Band is releasing a new album on June 2 titled "Big Whiskey And The Groogrux King." "Groogrux" is a tribute to their late saxaphone player Leroi Moore who passed away last August due to complications from an ATV accident earlier that summer.
