Dear friends,
How is it that a group of students can make amazing things happen? Teens with busy schedules, stresses and immediate needs, how can they drop everything to successfully lead a fundraiser?
How can they organize, execute and manage a fundraising program that raises over $135,000 for the community!
JL Mann students did just that during their Spirit Week that just ended. They raised the funds for The Beach Ball Foundation to benefit Shriiners Childrens Hospital, GHS Childrens Autism Center, and other area charities.
They decided to blow up any notion that the slow economy would hold them back..They blew up the notion that few would participate..
Its with perserverance and passion that the students at JL Mann created a plan, and made it happen. A great life lesson for all of us!
Congratulations are in order for Greenville High School as well. The students raised nearly $100,000 for their charity..Amazing...
While it is called a Spirit Week "competition" , I can say it is actually a spirit of unity and giving that has, instead, created a bond between the two "rivals".
A bond and partnership that will make us a stronger community and better friends..
thank you to both schools for caring so much. and for giving so much!
With gratitude,
sincerely
